Breakcore has evolved very much. And all these genres have been important, some genres are somewhat a phase for a new development in sound design but its comprised of a stream of fought of a group. This having a name and certainly charecteristics

I fking hated the headache of an example in the og post, but imagine at the 5 minute mark that kind of fking slayage for a bridge on her track!!! And it has elements of PC, SOPHIE, and video games. I really am here for Gaga doing any genre of music, but sorry I found that audio creepy. I trust Gaga would use the programming with style like she did with Bloody Mary and I'm all for her developing new sounds but that sh*t could give someone nightmares.

I find that after the early 2000s that most new fads are really just memes that got out of hand. Compare with the 70s and 80s when you had punks, hip hop artists, new romantics who had a sound AND an attitude. There was philosophy behind the aesthetics, and the music was just one aspect. These days a “genre” is a mash-up of two songs that gets recycled anonymously via social networks. The early 2000s had emo, nu metal and crunk and is the last era where genres had living breathing subcultures on the street. Now everything is online.
