I think (and this is just how I feel), we are just grateful that some decent pop music that is slightly reminscent of the 2009-2010 era seems to be upon us, well in the form of this particular song anyway. No, it's not new in terms of BRAND new, but it's refreshing from the utter trash we've been having over the last 3-5 years. Rappers, overhyped BASIC artists (I won't name them because of flaimbait but yeah). This girl isn't claiming to be anything, she's just happened to top the chart with a really great song. I also think the Gaga comparisons will either be a blessing or a curse for her as an artist. Time will tell. Interesting that she's soooo much like Lady Gaga when Lady Gaga is sooo much like Madonna. So why isn't Ava Max like Madonna? Too reminiscent, if you ask me. Seems like people are jumping to conclusions, as they usually do whenever someone who looks like Gaga shows up. She topped the UK charts with a very typical 10’s dance pop song, but remember that European countries are not as much into the rap scene as the US and pop never really left the radios there.
