Didymus 34,380 Posted December 18, 2018 Share Posted December 18, 2018 I don't think she can pull off full on metal simply because I'm sure she can't write a good riff for the life of her, let alone an interesting drum composition. If she was in a band it'd be different but... I do think that, however, she could hit it home with something like Grimes' latest single: It's clearly a lot heavier and directly inspired by metal than something like PI which was weak af when it comes to heavy rock influence (still don't get why fans pretend it's anything but a regular pop song) and it's awesome Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Metal fans also love to buy physical albums so I think she'd actually have a good shot at selling stuff Her performance with Metallica was a huge discussion trend in the metal community. They know about her, they know she loves metal, they applaud her vocal skills, I think people here would be surprised how quickly she could gain new fans. And her last two "hits" were barely hits at all. Million Reasons made it to the top five because of her Super Bowl performance and Shallow never took off on the radio at all. It only peaked in the top ten because it was attached to a movie. She hasn't had an actual, literal hit since Applause/DWUW. You really thought you did somethin with that, huh...
