I think Canada does pay the unaccepted asylum seekers their trips back. Someone correct me if not. I found this news in a MSNBC news feed by the way. Any polically bias source should be a concern as to the purpose of the report... sure... like a cat in a sil, I observe life, moving and still. It is not a "demand" because this is not a threat. Crossing the US border to seek asylum is legal and permissible. In their letter, they said that US asylum offices can only process ~40 cases per day (a stat that I've seen elsewhere) and that the repatriation settlement would ease pressure off of these offices. Your OP is cruel, biased, and misleading. These are some of the most persecuted people in the world, and you flatly stated that you think their situation is "laughable". You are a xenophobe.
