Rupaul’s Drag Race UK Is Officially Happening!

GLOBAL global phenomenon RuPaul’s Drag Race is coming to the UK next year for the show's first ever British version.

The series will appear on BBC Three — with producers inviting homegrown drag queens to take part.

A TV source said: "This is a massive coup for the Beeb as lots of other UK channels wanted this show. It will follow the exact same format as the American version with British twists and some famous guests.

"It will be filmed in London and casting directors will be searching for the best drag artists Britain has to offer - there'll be a huge budget for costumes and production and bosses are hoping that a star is born. It's really exciting for everyone involved and is expected to draw a lot of new fans to the franchise.

This will be good for the drag community here in the UK I think

Not sure I’m sold on BBC Three if I’m honest, I could totally see E4 showing it, I think they showed season three back in the day

BUT if the market it well, and maybe drop a few adverts on BBC One during eastenders or something they could really attract some serious numbers

Isn't BBC Three totally online now? I think maybe they thought that's the only way BBC could make sure they have it without risking the backlash of showing it on their main channels?

Yeah it’s totally online which could work in its favour because it could mean that Season 11/12 could be shown on BBC Three a day after broadcast

I actually thought the sentence was incomplete, thinking the movie was mentioned and totally forgot that "A star is born" actually means something except the movie

OMG I hope my local queens will participate, Miss Rory in Newcastle for instance here is very much like Bianca and I love her to death and can see her doing well.

I think if it gets popular it’ll end up on BBC One or be bought by Channel 4, but I’m so so soooo excited but we already know some of the judges already going to be on it, I hope since Michelle loves the UK and they filmed AS4 and S11 this year together she can come and judge even if it’s temporary on the UK version.

ugh I’m ready, I hope it makes more people wanna be drag queens in the UK too and makes a career for them bigger in the UK
