Cheek to Cheek (Sep 2014-Early 2016): Not popular but the GP realise her acoustic/piano/jazz talent with Sound of Music tribute and mini tribute era. AHS also improves her success 

Joanne (Aug 2016-Oct 2016): Not popular, PI is heard by many but not as many as it needed to be

Joanne (Oct 2016-Jan 2018): Pretty popular again, Million Reasons performs well and Superbowl skyrockets her but she declines again during JWT

Break (Jan 2018-Sep 2018): Almost unheard of, no talk about her, little talk about new music until Eli photos in August

ASIB (Sep 2018-Present): Huge again, famous, extremely rapidly increasing popularity, she's less 'singer' and more 'star'

Looking at that analysis you can see that Gaga has failed to ever maintain mainstream success for more than two or three singles with the GP. Her popularity is constantly changing, especially with promo issues. There wasn't enough promo for Joanne and there was too much promo for Born This Way. People always know of her but fail to pay attention until she releases something catchy or something that stands out (Shallow stood out even if it wasn't too catchy or out there). She changes from popstar to cult favourite

Interesting point and I find it pretty valid. I mean, she’s an oddball. Her fitting into the mold is very difficult as an artist which translates to difficult maintaining mainstream success consistently.

I agree. I think Lady Gaga has a bad manager/boring team. Besides, she doesn't understand the concept of being original. I'm afraid she never did.
