That film was not meant for filthy casuals, it was meant for fans. Besides, it was a documentary about her, how could she not discuss herself? messy.

The doc is great for Gaga fans, but I understand why non fans could find it "bad" or even "boring". The doc failed to show her fun side as a performer.

I mean... I wouldn't call her a narcissist but there are some parts in the documentary that made me feel a little...weird?

Like the American Horror Story set meltdown, and the superbowl rehearsals... I know that a lot of celebrities are like that but still...

And the Walmart scene makes me feel a little awkward...

But besides that... It's a great documentary imo... the making of Joanne, BR performance and the scene saying goodbye to Mark really touched me:tongue:

It’s not a celebrity thing, she just had an anxiety attack on set, something a lot of people go through. I thought that was really relatable, she was stressed like a lot of us.

Inspired on Madonna's Truth or Dare but lacking it's authenticity

intercambioderemixes22 September 2017

"As a regular Gaga fan that still remembers her 2009/2011 hits I couldn't wait for this documentary to premiere, especially since it had been labelled as a new "Truth or Dare" but I was thoroughly disappointed.

Everything she says is "me me me". She shows that she severely lacks a sense of humour and hardly cracks a joke or barely laughs. She's seems to be surrounded by a bunch of yes men and women who pander to everything she says.

In Truth of Dare Madonna was humorous, fun, intelligent and actually had in-depth conversations with her dancers and the people who surrounded her, she cared about them and what they had to say. Gaga on the other hand, doesn't seem to care about anyone but herself.

The whole movie seems contrived and portrays Gaga as a joyless, attention seeking woman that lacks empathy or true rockstar authenticity."

No lies detected to be honest, and I think deep down we all know. Some aspects of Gaga‘s personality definitely make it look like she takes herself way too seriously. She probably acts this way because she’s been hurt in her life so she feels the need to put up this cold wall of egomania to make her feel secure. I think that people have to stop dismissing and devaluing others based on a first impression, we need to ask ourselves what it could be that makes someone develop certain personality traits. It’s very rare that someone is just a bad, egotistical person for no reason.

I also see how when you’re in a position of such massive fame, having groups of people worshipping you as a God and catering to your every need you would have to actively prevent yourself from becoming too self-important and work on realizing that there are bigger things then you.

So I definitely see what those reviewers are aiming at, I felt it too but I still found the documentary itself likeable and entertaining.

I don't even think her ego is that big. She comes across the way she does in the documentary because she has a very assured sense of purpose regarding her role in the world. She's a musician, activist, businesswoman... bish has got a lot to contend with.

Imagine having a documentary about your life and then having people complaining about you talking about your life :toofunny:

Honestly..... I personally think that if a person talks a lot about THEIR personal beliefs and feelings are, it just shows that this person is very confident in themselves and aware that vocalizing your needs is essential to being mentally healthy. I'd rather hear Gaga talk about how things make her feel than... have Gaga talk about others. Like what is she supposed to do? Talk about the Kardashians for 5 hours instead of herself?

Gracious Gaga

Reading all the comments on the first page and ... Y’all are in denial.  Face it- if youre a career thriving celebrity, you’re a narcissist.  Not a bad thing, but if you live a life that is all about you and your career...you gotta be somewhat self absorbed.  She was obsessed w fame and would stop at nothing till she got it.  Again, doesn’t make you a bad person.  You just have to have a major ego if you’re willing to fearlessly put yourself out there in front of the world.  You have to believe that you are worthy of making the world want to listen.  It’s almost insanity.  Lots of people are talented but only those who are aggressive and assertive enough will get themselves known and only YOU have the power to do that.  And that power has to be fueled by a little bit of narcissism, believing you are better than most around you and that you are truly worth it.  This is my opinion which I believe is true.

Don’t quote me, I won’t read it.

BTW, when I watched 5F2 yesterday, I was so enthralled, could not get enough. Contrasted against the neg reaction people had, am I a full-fledged stan?

Of course you are! You have a great taste! ;) And also you are a little Carrie Bradshaw for finishing with a question.

I think most people just can't grasp the fact that she is in, like, total control of what she wants to do with her career at this point. That's what was showcased in the documentary.

Plus... ??? It's literally about her. Like, she's not making everything about her, it's just the documentary focuses a lot on her professional work (which is, obviously, self-centered).

3 points in and ready for more
