Arcanum 5,155
This interview always makes me realize her impact in social reality. Her attitude may sometimes be off putting , but no one can deny that the woman had the balls to speak loud and clear about the hypocricy of media, long before the term was widely spread. Btw the interviewer is really rude and ironic towards her. This interview was taken after the huge backlash after the Justify My Love music video was banned from MTV. Let's focus on this: I Wantth your Love...I Wantth your Love.

AStarIsBorn21 3,714
Funny how MTV was so important to music back then. Now they’re basically useless in the building of this industry. I’m happy Madonna stood up for such important things back then though, her impact is so important to our culture now a days.

derpmonster 22,412
Wow! I find this great and have some more respect for her now. I'm no one to say what Madonna "should" be like but I like this one a lot. Classy, articulate, making important points. Not the shady, bitchy Madonna she comes off as otherwise. This reminds me of when Gaga called out the sexist interviewer. Check out iTunes data & graphs at CHARTPOP.live
Guest
I liked this interview, I like when she shows her intelligent, elegant side. I just watched the music video & yeah I mean it was sexual but I would’ve loved to see that growing up, something that could make sense of my sexual feelings or desires. Not saying those are my exact desires or fantasies but you get the idea. The song however... can you even call that a song? There’s no way that was a hit single, talking over a basic melody playing in the back with almost no singing or vocal talent lol & no I’m not dissing or attacking Madonna, I’m attacking the “song.”

Regina George 59,387
Video for Justify My Love wouldn’t be played even today because it is truly erotic and not something kids should watch objectively. I don’t think there is any hate towards her. This video is literally so erotic it can easily pass as softcore **** and sorry but it’s nit something thst should be played on MTV or any channel where kids could have access. And even blood nowadays is disgusted in movies or deleted so that people watching at home could tell it’s acting.

It is ok to show a MV that women twerk in front of their pimps and shoot them down with guns but it's not acceptable to show a woman having an erotic fantasy in a hotel? Did you even watch the points she is making? We are so eager to hide everything under the doormat. I know that 12 year olds have a wider knowledge around sex than I have in my 30s because of how cheap sex is and how easily it is found in every media. And the bad thing is that they learn that **** equates erotic. I Wantth your Love...I Wantth your Love.

If you think that this is something kids should watch - then I have no words for you. MTV is family friendly TV channel and that kind of video is not for kids. Teens will explore if they want to and it’s the acceptable age to explore stuff.. but does that mean we should play **** on TV? Just because 12 year olds have better knowledge then us? I think not. I wouldn’t want my child to see this on TV and you can talk all you want.

So my guess is that you have a problem about what is shown on a TV and not what is represented in the media in terms of society. So whenever a rapper appears having a decent MV that talks about bigotry you are ok as long as there is no sexual imagery. The fact that you are a woman makes you far more ignorant about social levels of injustice. I am a male and I consider myself feminist in terms of women's freedom of expression. A decade ago if 50cent pulled a video with women dancing half naked it was ok, but whenever a woman did that she was under fire and scrutinized. Yes I want my kids to watch this instead of news on a TV channel. So I will answer them every question about sexuality and not hide it under a rock until it is too late to talk about it.
