I feel like certain critics love her because she invokes nostalgia for them because she sounds kind of like 90s Brandy and her image is like Britney Spears' from the 98-05. Her image also is irritating to me because it's so purposely infantile. The way she types on twitter and Instagram is ridiculous. She basically goes for "sexy baby" like that character from 30 Rock. I also feel like she is performative, in that her sound bites and interviews sound like regurgitations from woke twitter, and she'll bring out those points to explain her work even though it makes no sense (like trying to make GIAW into a feminist song when its just a song about sex and women being godly in a sexual way). For this reason, I just cannot with her. If I loved her music I could maybe be into her like other pop stans, but nothing about her appeals to me. She is rubbing her hands together when she see's people like you, like "oh let's support our damaged KWEEN!" Her boyfriend made jokes about it, you just know them 2 were behind closed doors laughing. Her voice is angelic and she’s actually dances okay. Off any major pop girl to debut this decade 2010-2018, she is for sure the most talented (Adele released her first album in 2008). Trust me, during the whole donut hate thing i found her to be stuck up, and bratty. But she’s grown out of it. I love that she brings awareness to mental health. That’s really important. im here for her success (but i also don’t get the success of “thank you ,next”.
