For general categories, there will be 8 nominations starting from next year. Nominations are announced in one month, on 5 December 2018. I'm being pessimistic and will predict only two nominations for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Song Written for Visual Media. For Duo/Group, I think Perfect Duet and Girls Like You are locks, some people are predicting Say Something by Justin Timberlake/Chris Stapleton and The Middle by Zedd and whoever he did that with. The latter two are not really 'locks', so Shallow should be pretty safe in this one. For Song Written for Visual Media, it is a lock and is very likely to win. For Song of the Year, it definitely helps that they are nominating 8 songs instead of 5, and Shallow has been #1 on iTunes worldwide for more than 35 days, and its streaming performance is also very impressive, it's impossible to ignore this song, it might get nominated, but I'm keeping my expectations low and predicting only two.
