... but she didn't have any new album out in 2 years, so of course she was under the radar :awkney: Maybe look up the definition of a comeback, idk.

I mean, at this pace, let's call everything a comeback. And next month, you guys will be making another thread asking if ENIGMA is her comeback :laughga:

In the UK and everywhere Shallow went #1, yes.

But still we need to wait and see how LG6's lead single charts to judge fully, since Shallow had huge promo

YES it is her comeback! At least in Switzerland. Shallow has been number one for the past 4 weeks and everybody is talking about her again! Just recently I heard some students two grades under me talking about how much they love Gaga! They were listening to Shallow, Perfect Illusion, Bad Romance, etc. I mean Million Reasons was big here too, but the ASIB era truly resurrected her career here! Also her streaming numbers are amazing. Not only compared to her other songs, but Shallow is #5 on global Spotify!

If they play their cards well, I'm sure they can keep her success going!

Except it hasn’t been years since her last global rise in popularity. Also, ASIB is definitely more globally (as a whole) popular than Joanne, CTC, and ARTPOP. And considering she’s getting #1 singles in place like the UK again, since she hasn’t gotten one in 8 years, is extremely amazing. In the US, which I’m guessing is where you live, it’s buisness as usual, but globally this is her biggest hit in over half a decade. You should be proud instead of denying it.

Well it's a succesful time for her right now, but once the ASIB hype has died, she'll have to start again.

She's not making enough of an impact for it to last through her next projects

I'm from France, where she hasn't promoted anything since TEOG, so try again :laughga:

But I'm super proud of my girl! What I'm saying is that she's consistently been on top (like I said earlier, just last year she was doing the freaking SuperBowl...), so talking about a comeback seems a bit presumptuous to me, that's all.

She had a top 5 single and did the SuperBowl just last year, sooo....

Believe me we live in the stan bubble, there are STILL people in the GP who think she’s in retirement. :toofunny: ASIB helped tremendously though.

I agree people use that phrase “comeback” a lot, it’s gotten annoying to me as well, but this genuinely is huge for Gaga, she’s seeing chart number she hasn’t gotten since her peak. I have a really good feeling ASIB will be a highlight of her career  and leave such a good impact. It’s definitely doing better than her past couple of albums.

It’s her comeback in the eyes of the GP. She has never been this popular in the UK and Australia since BTW, it’s made her relevant in pop culture again.

HEARTSTOP

If you constantly put out work (not only songs, but performances, appearances, etc) and EVERYONE knows your name, can you trully be gone? No.

She might have more commercial success in the future, or not. Regardless of that, she won't be more popular than what she already achieved, unless there's an alien race that discovers earth and acknowledges Gaga. You can't be more popular than 100% of the people knowing about you.

bloody g

In 2014 her career was pretty much over. However, she has been steadily increasing in popularity since C2C snd gaining the public acclaim since then.

To me, Shallow doesn't feel like a comeback, it feels like another step of the ladder. Just like jumping to streaming era with The Cure, the Superbowl, pushing Million Reasons as much as possible, a stripped down Joanne were all small steps in the right direction.

So no, I understand why many people see it like a "comeback", but to me it feels like she had never left.
