Why is GGD asking us about Ariana’s new song?

Even if the Admin is an Arianator, you can't blame them for posting about her. It's literally today's hot topic and the thread of her song being released has over 100 comments, of course they're gonna address that.

Yes... I do know. :laughga: But there is a difference between popular music and pop (genre) music. Unless you’d like to tell me Kendrick Lamar, Tyga, Travis, etc. makes pop songs. Shallow is a country-rock power ballad.

Pop means popular. There is such thing as rap-pop, and the music of the artists you listed falls under this category. Everything that charts inside the top 40 (regardless if it has a pop, rock, country, folk, R&B, rap or soul base) is pop because popular means pop, by default.

The two points in the OP aren't connected at all  Thinking that Shallow doesn't sound "pop" and posting something positive about Ariana Grande have nothing to do with each other

But yeah Admin's said it anyway but he's posted positive stuff about other artists before. I think it's nice to be shining a light now and then on other artists. Gaga herself does it about other people with her accounts so I don't think there's anything wrong as a fan site to be admiring/appreciating other artists. It's all positivity at the end of the day so I don't think there's anything problematic about it

Just because you don’t see the connection for obvious reasons, doesn’t means there isn’t one

Just because you see a connection, doesn’t mean there is one :duck: Works both ways

Also what are these “obvious” reasons?

Ariana has an INCREDIBLE voice and she seems really likeable and lovely but I don't get the hype around her music. I think it's because she's the "it" girl right now, she's trendy. "No Tears" was a great lead single but I personally find most of her music really bland. Also, with "thank you, next", I find the whole public break-up song thing a bit tacky.

Admin, I know some fans are pressed (me too) but we love you and this site, please don't go rogue on us and decide to shut it down :ladyhaha: :kara:

Spoiler

At least until we have a chance to coordinate a replacement :trollga:

Spoiler

Just kidding. We could never. GGD is family.

I see GGD supporting many artists, though it's true that Ariana is well-liked here. I sometimes wonder the same thing myself however considering she's releasing new music I think we can forgive the 'favourtism'.

Personally I haven't heard her new music and probably won't until subjected to it circumstantially through radio, but I certainly don't object to showing her support. Gaga fans, after all, have been known to champion strong women.
