IDK.. It sounds kinda Disney Channel Original Movie soundtrack-ish (NOT LYRICALLY because I clearly have to mention it).. :cryga: I expected something more honestly.. It seems like it was written like 5 days ago and she recorded it yesterday and contacted TMZ to announce it..

And for people who say that every Ariana song is same.. Well y’all clearly didn’t listen to all of her songs. She does have unique and recognizable voice and style but her songs are different.

Did she put out this Sweetener reject because she wanted to or because she wants money?

Why so pressed :triggered:

this sounds nothing like sweetener, and the lyrics clearly show this was recorded after sweetener

I feel like everytime I listen to her she's singing the same song. :lmao:

Imagine thinking this sounds like hands on me

I miss when Disney movie soundtrack’s had lyrics like “I’m so f*cking grateful for my ex” in them. The good ole days.  :air:

I said it sounds and IMO it does. Not the lyrics but the instrumental and the kinda basic repetition in chorus.

EDIT: When I think about it even SOME lyrics sound like some disney channel movie song.

Ughhhh I’m so over crappy songs being written in order to get back at people. This is why, despite bops, I can’t fully bring myself to stan Taylor or Ariana.

But everyone does them.. Even Gaga with Paper Gangsta

This is a cute bop

And I LOVE that Ariana is portaying a strong independent woman that has nothing but love for her ex-boyfriends. That's a role model the kids and teens need nowadays.

Not these Taylor's writing about being the victim of each of her ex-boyfriends... That's not the picture you want to give to this generation

The difference between Taylors' and Arianas' songs is that Paper Gangsta is actually great :reductive:

SEXODUS

I really struggle to believe that she’s actually grateful for her exes, especially Pete. It’s been like, what? less than a month? Gurl, please. The lyrical content I find childish, but as a whole it’s not a song that I’d turn off from the radio. It has a nice vibe to it. There’s so much worse around right now tbh.
