I dont agree. It was the same before. If your album struggles,  your tour will not sell as good. Even with Gaga, you can see that her tours reflect the succes of the era. There are exceptions here and there. For example, touring in new places where is demand.

I don't think so. Otherwise being a "legacy act" wouldn't be a thing. What I mean is, that even if you are somebody completely larger than life successful, your monetary future is starting to be more and more in doubt than before because people are more fickle than ever before. I don't think that Gaga is a good example either since two of her tours were abnormally caught cancelled by injury/ilness. Madonna could always rely on selling out and making money, Prince (may he rest in piece) would have never worried about his tour flopping ever while he was alive etc, just because of the legacy they left behind.

What I'm really trying to say is that nobody is untouchable anymore. Anybody can unexpectedly lose BIG in a very amount of time and struggle for the rest of their continuing career to rebuilt what they lost.

Lets talk about Madonna. Madonna always sold out but 2 flops era later, she is selling out arenas,  not stadiums. And for the last tour she has finally seen Asia and Australia, because as I said she knew that there is more demand there.

Even legacy acts at some point will slow down. It happened with Bruce Springsteen before digital era started. I think the same happen with U2 before streaming.

What is true, its that there is more competition. More acts tour than they did before, because thats where the money are now. Streaming alone doesnt influence tours, but u need some form of succes in the charts as a pop act. And I think this is the same with all the artists, but the standards are different. You sell tickets different as a pop act than you do as a Las Vegas act or as a legacy act.

At least LWYMMD delivered. You are not looking at it and think how poor job the director or editor did.

Let me clear. I undrestand all this hype, but it didnt deliver. The video is a mess. The fact that there are so many references and appareances, but I couldnt find one that delivered says it all. We live in a age where it seems that the hype is more important than the results, which isnt ok.

Thank you for wording this, I do think the "homage" it's a nice concpet but the execution (and specially the editing as you mention) is terrible, the video itself makes zero sense.

I would like a collab between them, but not just because we want success. I want a good song, and if we get a good song, the success will follow.

Shallow still #1 on iTunes Canada.

Thank u next, Nothing breaks like a heart, pedophile and drake/meek who?

It's going to be the longest charting #1 song on the digital chart in 2018 if it remains at #1 for 2 more weeks. Perfect was #1 for 9 weeks and Shallow has been #1 for 8 so we're close

Pop fans look at a few millionaire artists and think there is money in the industry, but streaming and pirating are killing artists starting just below the top level.  Nobody can make a living unless you manage to attract a few million YouTube subscribers and get people to come to shows.  There use to be a fertile ground for middle acts to make some money on album sales and tour and be nurtured by labels. No more and if you are wondering why radio is full of generic cookie cutter acts that is why.  Fans thinking music should be a free commodity have killed the industry.

Lets not act like the labels didnt take the biggest cut from album sales.

HDD rarely are "working" during week-ends, but I can't see them not posting their numbers before Billboard, so we should expect FINAL tonight tbh.
