Passive aggressive the new classy.

Then you tell me how he should’ve handled it (taking the video anyway isn’t an option)

the memes are so fking funny :rip:

on a serious note, there's really nothing wrong with what he did, like he even put in such a nice & polite tone. I, for one will still be giving my coin to mr malek when Bohemian Rhapsody comes out :bon:

I think she shouldn't even post that video that was recorded without his consent. I think it is okay if the celebrities you meet are not in a rush and was asked to record a video massage before actually being recorded. Taking a picture with fans is quite enough for someone you don't really know. :ohwell:

Don’t scream “I bought your album/watched your movie, now sign my copy/take a video message with me BECAUSE I CONTRIBUTE TO YOUR SUCCESS!!!!”

I have some questions for you. Did the woman scream all of what your saying? Because if I remember correctly, she didn't. She politely asked for him to say hello to a friend.

Do you think Gaga would be as big a success if it wasn't for her fans going to her tours, buying her music, etc.? Do you remember the ARTPOP era? The reason she was called a flop was because people (fans) weren't buying her music. And many fans left her during that era. Fans 100% contribute to an artists success. Katy literally lost all of her fans last year and is she as successful as she was during the TD or Prism eras? I don't think so

I'm done replying to this thread because I've already said what I needed to. People just don't like to hear other opinions

Honey it’s called a business. Every entity/company/person who is successful is successful because they are popular with a large group, that means many people consume their product. That in no way means they OWE the consumers anything besides the product consumed. It’s the fairest exchange. Of course they should show appreciation, but appreciation does not mean giving away their time and personal space for every of their follower.

Gaga didn’t beg people to listen to her, buy her products, go see her on tour. People did it, willingly, because they enjoy her work and her message. So why should she be GRATEFUL for your choice? Why should you be entitled to anything else apart from what you already paid for?

Don’t overrate your “contribution”. I’m sure it’s value is very very small compared to picture with a celebrity. They’re only doing it because they are nice, not because they have to.

And finally, you are allowed to have an opinion. It’s just that others are allowed to have opinions contrasting to yours as well. Funny how freedom of speech works right? You didn’t get a ban or WP for this particular view did you? So what are you mad about? Next time, put out a more thoughtful articulate view and maybe people wouldn’t disagree so much.

Of course fans are important, but you're arguing that because someone pays for one thing they are entitled to anything which makes no sense. My employer is not entitled to anything of mine other than my time and labor for a set number of hours and I am compensated for that. This is already wired into a celebrity's job via a promo schedule. Anything outside of that is generosity at best.

Plus, he compromised and took a photo. It wasn't like he outrightly rejected any fan interaction and went Christian Bale ala screaming at that audio director levels of crazy. He just expressed the mode which made him uncomfortable and offered an alternative. In my mind, this is even still going beyond what he needed to do as he could have still said no in a polite manner. Not every celebrity is a socialite, and if we've chosen them to be popular, it isn't fair to thrust upon them a responsibility to be as much when they are not even being asked if they want to. Rami is clearly not a super outgoing person unlike, say, Cardi B. She is a socialite *and* entertainer and that's the operative difference. We're lumping all celebrity together when they're not the same.

Why is people mad at him? He was quite polite and he has the right to chose if he wants to record a video or not

... and now i just sit in silence.

That's a very simplistic way of looking at things. Of course fans contribute to an artists career. But buying their music or watching their TV shows doesn't mean you own them. You're buying a product from them. You wouldn't buy a loaf of bread from a baker and then get mad that he wasn't comfortable taking a video with you because you're "supporting his livelihood."

Boundaries exist for a reason.

She probably should've asked him before recording but no one should be hard on her either. She was just an excited fan caught up in the moment.
