Imagine them not releasing ARUTW as a single... it literally has a chance to be a solo gaga #1 since Born this way. Yall really want to waste all the potential that this soundtrack has just for a quick run of the mill edm album? 

The only real big promo for the soundtrack is the movie. As soon as it’s out of the theatres the likeliness of a clip of movie scenes for a music video getting any song to be #1 on the BBH100 is close to 0. I genuinely think Shallow is the only top 5 we’re getting out of this album, sales are already decreasing. But besides that do y’all genuinely prefer success to new music? I’d take 2 albums of good poor charting music to one good album that charts well anyway. I Stan Gaga because she’s a musician not because she charts well (which she really doesn’t compared to people like Cardi and Katy).

Not sure if Enigmas premiere will be a good promotion. I mean... there is no live stream like Coachella was. Sure, she can release the song + mv on every platform at premiere night but I don't know... If she really want to do a surprise release she better not do it at enigma opening night cause barley every little monster think she will do that!

Plus, movie cycles are very limited and short compared to albums. Albums can span years, while movies only take up a couple of months.

I do agree with certain aspects of your post. But, I wouldn't go as far as saying that ASIB is a "side project." This is one of the most important successes so far in her career and while it is a soundtrack, it is still being treated as an album.

I used to think the same, but if she wins Best Actress, Best Picture or Best Song the movie and the soundtrack will be on another commercial ride.

Wait til the post-Oscars hype dies down and then drop the lead (like March-April).

I'm not trying to downplay what Gaga does in her career at all, but comparing this to what Gaga's known for, this was a "side project." This is one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially viable projects she's done in a while, but that's not to say that it still isn't a side project. 

Of course, if she continues to do movies and film (which is pretty much a guarantee), then we can start to consider acting more of a primary career for her along with music. However, she's still very new to the acting world and because of that, I still consider things like this to be "side projects." Once again, I'm not trying to downplay her career, but that's just the way I see it.
