If that's what you think of the Old Testament, then you've missed the point of Christianity.

People who say this just can't accept that their religion is problematic and can't work in modern society if practiced as written. Hell, even without the Old Testament, the New Testament is still really problematic.

Jews seem to be able to own up to it just fine. Their book says a lot of people should be killed for their sins, and yet I don't seem to notice anyone calling Judaism a violent religion.

The Law of Moses was given to point people's minds forward to Jesus Christ, the promised Messiah-to-come. Once he did come, the Law's purpose was fulfilled, and it became obsolete. It was not destroyed, but superseded by a higher law, the law of the Gospel.

What is "problematic" about the New Testament? Do you know that Jesus himself never mentioned gays/homosexuals?

At the end of the day people, Christianity is much more accepting than Islam, the church now accept gay marriage that will NEVER happen in Islam. And people talking about the old testament LOL it's OLD for a reason.

Jesus may never talk about homosexuality, but his disciples sure did. For example, in Romans 1:26-32, where it says those women who lie with women, or men who lust for men, are worthy of death. Interestingly, that same passage states that those who debate are worthy of death as well. 

But you're right, Jesus never said anything about homosexuality. Just his disciples, like Paul, the apostle who set about spreading Jesus' gospel and founded many churches in his name. Pretty sure the Epistles of Paul are considered part of the Law of Christ.

Oh, and I seem to recall Jesus referring to marriage as between a man and a woman, but if I recall that's only in reference to Adam and Eve.

Sure does sound like cherry picking. I mean, why even have the Old Testament be a part of the bible if you're just going to say "that part doesn't matter anymore." Especially considering that Jesus' whole mission was to convert as many people to Judaism.

Even if you don't take the Old Testament into account, the New Testament shares a lot of these sentiments without suggesting a punishment for them other than those that sin will burn in hell. Or at least not be allowed into heaven.

Don't get me wrong, I believe almost all religions are terrible. After all, they aren't mine. Islam is just as bad as Christianity. But as long as practitioners are private, legal, and mind their own business, I have no problem with them. (Of course, rarely is that the case.)
