Hey guys.

 

I saw many people saying that Gagas acting was incredible and that she is the best, she will get the oscar. I wanted to ask through a pole if the majority here really thinks she will win that oscar. 

Not trying to be negative here- although this might be a harsh topic for a Lady Gaga stan site, I think Gagas acting was okay. It was good. But I dont think its oscar worthy. I dont even think she should get a nomination for that; but my guess is she will. I love Gaga, I love her music, but for me in that movie she just did not fuk up with acting. But thats all. I liked the movie it was good but for me it was just not the best thing Ive ever seen. I would not even have watched this if there would be somebody else instead of Gaga tbh. I do think the movie can get oscars but just not for lady gaga as best actress. Best original song for sure! Best picture maybe? Best director/actor , i dunno.After all it was Gagas first big movie debut, and for that it was good.

 

Just my opinion. I actually dont really care that much about oscars n stuff but I wanted to share my opinion and see what others think.

Very far from the best, I sometimes found her acting to be a bit wooden and some parts forced.

But definitely not bad either, she's better than her singer-->actor contemporaries. I was overall impressed.

I Feel like I’m alone in this but I don’t get why critics were so hyped about her performance. Don’t get me wrong she WAS GREAT. But not something that could compete at the Oscars. I guess I was expecting something completely out of this world based on all the hype. Nevertheless I think she could get nominated but against competition she doesn’t start much of a chance. If anything bradly is the one who shined most in this movie. He’ll definitely get nominated in both director and actor categories. Gaga will definitely get nominated on thee song categories

She doesn't stand a chance against any of them. But still, for her first starring role in a movie, she did a great job

Her singing at the end is enough of a performance to earn an oscar. I've never seen something more beautiful. Basically every scene at and after the he Grammys was beautiful and perfect and my sis WILL win an oscar

I'm 80% sure she'll get nominated, but I'm not sure she will win. Anyway, ASIB will win several other awards, I'm sure

I dont think she will win, BUT she still has a great chance. A best song win would be enough for me

I always like to refer back to Cher winning for Moonstruck. She was competing against monsters and amazing performances (Glenn Close says hi). She won however, she was not the best in my opinion. I don't even know how the critics "judge" a good acting performance. Maybe they'll give her the chance for the effort or for a couple of the scenes where she was amazing (and heating pasta for Bradley).

This is Glenn Close's year. She should win the award. And Gaga will be more than fine with her oscar for best original song and best actress nomination. 

As much as i love her, it would be an injustice if Gaga won over Glenn.

It's a popularity contest  its very dependant on the campaign the studio and the actors do...

Yeah I don't think the win for best actress but hope to god she at least gets a best original song win

With the hype, she’s definitely getting nominated. I’ll be fairly shocked if she isn’t. Doubt she will win, but you know, the Oscars may favour her. They love a newcomer. She could pull a “Cher” on her first try. The voters on the board may be just as surprised as all the film critics were at her debut acting skills. 

Her acting will improve in time just like her singing has improved MAJORLY the past few years. I have no doubt in my mind she could one day be a two-time Best Actress winner, I’d never doubt her. 

If she does win in 2019, I hope she remains her humble self and congratulate her fellow nominees, in an Adele-like way. Because I don’t see how her acting is better than some of the other potential contenders.
