Klou 2,414
Gotye is going to release his follow up single "I Feel Better" to iTunes on September 25th. It's already on his album, but his label wants to release it separately. I hope it smashes A bit Motown, no? Wow definitely Motown.... It's upbeat and fun enough to have some sort of a chance on radio. I still think he's done having any other smashes off the album because he hasn't had any other hit singles in other countries. NathanC 938
PTA peaked at MTN's level? This pleases me greatly :creepflop:

The separate digital release will make people think it's new. Interscope should have done that when they saw MTN struggling. People would have bought it, thinking it was a new single :toofloppy:
Americano 31,061
Wishing someone to not be successful is pretty pathetic also I'd rather not hear that crap excuse for pop on my local station. She's gonna fly into irrelevance faster than Mims after "This is why I'm hot" because she's demonstrating a lack of ability to be consistent with quality. How can you go from a smooth sounding 'Lights' to some indie garbage track that sounds like it'd be played on an iPhone commercial

I guess we'll see how smart the public is.

I guess I should've been fair and pointed out that she, herself, was never really relevant to begin with in terms of worldwide success or appeal. :)

She's only had real success in the UK. Only Lights has done well here... I can't say the album has sold particularly much, but I think it would have faired better if other singles from that album were released after Lights. Yup, the songs are a hell of a lot better than this single. Under the Sheets and Starry Eyed wouldve done well
Ozzy8923 9
Klou usually mentions that when a song reaches the top 20 on Pop Radio that it sales will increase heavily. Seeing that PTA gained a healthy amount of audience impressions and is in a good spot on itunes and is now top 20 on Pop Radio, I expect it to be in the top 20 soon, and eventually reach the top 10. I predict a peak position in the lower regions of the top 10, or, if she's lucky, the song will peak at #5 like Starships and in the top 5 on Pop Radio. :)
Harry 26,836
Ellie's new song is interesting. I just wish the instrumental chorus section wouldn't just be two chords back to back Could be so much more effective with a four chord progression. The "anything could happen, anything could happen" build up with the layered vocals is phenomenal though I don't expect much from it chart wise but I never thought Lights would either, especially over a year after it came out. I'm just glad she didn't take the generic pop route to take advantage of the success of Lights.
