Jase 13,288
Dirty Pictures wasn't her single though That's like counting Chillin' and Video Phone as official Gaga flops And Cannibal was her EP I stated that she hasn't had a flop single yet. That's official. I'm not stanning for her, I'm just stating the truth  Ke$ha's a BEAST when it comes to her singles

boysboysboys 278
Of course its a huge flop this year. And I must say its a flop in general, both 2011 & 2012. Its sold so much just cause of that first week when of course people didn't know what to expect, and BTW single was a great lead in single, so thats why the album sold 1,100,000 in its first week. I mean we both love Gaga but why are you defending BTW's sales when its obvious its a flop in the USA. In 1 week = 1,100,000 copies In 1 year, 3 months = 2,200,000 copies 2,200,000 - 1,100,000 = 1,100,000 copies. So she sold the same amount of copies in 1 week and in 1 year and 3 months (excluding the first week) and that is not flop for you?? NO! Those are very decent sales for an album that has only one #1 and controversy all over it. I can go on and on about how it's normal that sales depreciate and how people buy pop, and even bring other artists to the table. Whatever, the others can take it from here. Reply to them because it's so not worth the time. Note that my judgement is not clouded and I'm not overestimating Gaga.
jhonyguy04 3
Ke$ha is the only pop girl that hasn't had a flop yet She has also released less singles than all the pop girls.
jhonyguy04 3
I still can't believe it - Born This Way (album) sold just 135,000 copies this year in the USA, while in the UK it sold 100,500 copies. 315,000,000 people lives in the USA (and its Gaga's homeland), and 60,000,000 people lives in the UK. BTW is such a flop in the USA. Kinda of agree but it's not a flop though. Selling 2.2 million copies or 1.8 million minus the amazon sales is pretty solid sales. I wonder why it is selling so much in the UK though since it had less hits than the US.

No reason to ignore the first week sales like that, they matter as much as any other sales. Just because more people than usual bought the album during the same week does not make it a flop. According to your logic, an album that sells 10 million copies in its first week is a flop if the sales after that are a lot lower (hypothetical situation). Which is of course an insane way to think. CoolTrainerTerry 1,401
Let us look at the TD album for a second, shall we? Considering it had almost double the time released, 6 hit singles (5 #1s) and it took a re-release to even pass BTW's sale figures, I think it's safe to say BTW has done pretty good for itself. Especially considering just about everyone but Adele hasn't had all that great of sales recently.

Pop albums generally sell better per capital in UK than US. They don'y have large population segments that only listen to country or hip-hop, They're also a bit behind US trends, in still buying albums more (not just itunes singles) and not buying in such a front loaded way. http://www.billboard...007863892.story Here is a look at the 10 top overall digital sales weeks, since SoundScan began tracking digital sales: 636,000, "Right Round," Flo Rida, Feb. 28, 2009 610,000, "TiK ToK," Ke$ha, Jan. 9, 2010 559,000, "Grenade," Bruno Mars, Jan. 8, 2011 542,000, "Somebody That I Used To Know," Gotye featuring Kimbra, April 28, 2012 521,000, "Boyfriend," Justin Bieber, April 14, 2012 509,000, "Born This Way," Lady Gaga, March 5, 2011 509,000, "Firework," Katy Perry, Jan. 8, 2011 493,000, "Payphone," Maroon 5 featuring Wiz Khalifa, May 5, 2012 467,000, "Low," Flo Rida, Jan. 12, 2008 464,000, "Boom Boom Pow," the Black Eyed Peas, April 18, 2009 Gotye's numbers explain why neither Boyfriend nor Payphone could debut #1. The original 80s version of You Spin Me Around is WAY better than Flo's.

Klou 2,414
It looks like Taylor is plateauing out. She's selling a consistant almost 2x as much as Whistle, which means her second week of sales will probably be in the 400K range. I guess. I like Kesha now cause she confirmed her letter fake. That letter was pretty convincing.
