I work in film. The number 1 movie isn't a big deal at all the way it is in music (I've said this before, saying it again!). It's all about the $$$. There's no ego/bragging about a number one film the way it is in music. ASIB is going to do $300+WW which is insane for an R-Rated musical. This is huge. This has a chance to be a Grease level success. Watched for decades.

It's mostly about the % of $$$ over it's budget it can go.

ASIB could have had very little gross on a slow week and been number one... but that's not success.

Then the awards the film can get will determine how well the bluray release will go.

It's all looking good so far but needs a drip of promo to continue whether that's ads or interviews.

I'm going to guess it has its cinema run extended a little.

Well I do know December 25 in Japan is not Christmas but date night for couples so hopefully Japanese couples watch the movie!

Isn’t the Blu-Ray coming out before the Oscars?

Yeah but they generally have promo campaigns for newer releases around Oscar time so there's a big boost.

Where do y’all live? 11.50 is cheap as far as I’m concerned. I would say 12-14 is average here (Boston) and the nice theaters with reclining seats are like $18-28, legit.

I'm in South Carolina. Most things are cheaper down here (except for food)

Since the names Gaga and Venom are in the news so much now. Wouldn't it be great if Gaga played the villain in Venom 2.

Or someone else. Just a thought.
