It’s been mostly negative, especially regarding the look of Will Smith as the Genie. Jeff Snieder was there and he brought up the footage again today, saying that it looks “scary” and that it’s literally a blue Will Smith with a ponytail and the whole thing “looks like a mistake”. He said “it’s the type of film where you fire the entire team after it’s released”. The fact that Will Smith is a selling point but they’re scared to show him in a teaser sort of confirms that. This one mimicks the teaser for the original movie so I think it's less of scared to show Will Smith and more they want to build hype around seeing him and also get audiences acquainted with the star of this new film so they are not just there for Genie (as this isn't a Maleficent-type movie lol) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

OMG, that sounds really awful. By the way: Does anoyone know the Hallmark Entertainment TV miniseries "Arabian Nights" from 2000? I loved it as a kid.
