JR Gg 12,985
https://deadline.com/2018/10/first-man-landing-1m-from-thursday-night-shows-early-b-o-read-1202481481/ Venom turned in a Saturday of $15.2M, +60% over Friday, meaning the younger males turned out. There was a pause on Friday morning after Warner Bros.’ A Star Is Born beat Venom on Thursday that the momentum would continue into the weekend. The Bradley Cooper-Lady Gaga musical romance still did great with a $11.7M Saturday, +31% for a second weekend around $28.1M (-34%) and 10-day of $94.2M. Here’s what the latter part of the morning will tell us: if Goosebumps 2 beats Universal’s astronaut drama First Man for third. The kids sequel screamed a bit louder than the 2 hour 21-minute Neil Armstrong biopic on Saturday, $6.8M to $6.3M. As of this minute it’s too close to call who beats who as the Ryan Gosling-Claire Foy movie is looking at around $16.2M as well. There was hope at Uni that First Man would do better, and it’s fingers crossed for legs, though audience scores aren’t over the moon with a B+ CinemaScore and 79% overall positive on PostTrak. Bad Times at the El Royale from Fox 2000 cooled down 10% on Saturday with an estimated $2.6M for a 3-day of $7.1M. Not so hot for this adult genre film which will really face a monster next weekend when Universal/Miramax/Blumhouse’s Halloween scares up $60M worth of business
