Jackson just said it was, but Ally never hated what she was doing. She literally cancelled her tour when she didn’t get what she wanted. She was in control, Jackson was just trying to hold her to the standards HE believed music should be held to. And like Ally said in the bathtub, it’s more that he feels pathetic and is shooting her down because of jealousy and feeling shitty about his own life/career and where it seems to be going. That was an important distinguishing feature in Ally vs. Jackson. Jackson was stuck in what he considered "art" and "authentic music". Ally wanted to be a star and didn't have any hang-ups about getting there. And I think that's where they start falling apart. Jackson is on the waning effects of stardom feeling what it does to a man after awhile meanwhile Ally is riding the highs and doing whatever it takes for the gratification and fame. It's not that it's bad, but compared to the rest of the soundtrack (yes, even Heal Me ) it sounds basic. And the fact it is intended to sound basic doesn't make it better for me Ew, David!
