GagaUnderYou 4,994
Movie was awesome but would you have done anything different if you had control over that? I expected there to be more drama between Bradley and Gaga like a bad fight, bottle throwing fight kind of thing. Especially with the theme of addiction, we saw Jack heading down a bad path but was Ally as well? She poured a drink before preforming ARUTW, did she find comfort in alcohol as well? What was the significance of her pouring and drinking before she went on stage? I also thought there would be more singing between them, than just inaudible scenes of them singing. Like Music to My Eyes etc (ex. Cheesy scenes like Mamma Mia duets or something), Digging My Grave would have been nice to see too. A part of Before I Cry should have been sung after the bathtub scene with Gaga yelling, him calling her "ugly" and then she bursts out into a song "I can't believe the thing that you said" Is that Alright deserved more than to be used at the credits. Maybe a part at her wedding. Also, I feel like the ear (high pitch noises) storyline was leading up to something bigger but it didn't get much of a backstory. I felt the end was kind of rushed after the stuff with Jack. Who found Jack? Was it Ally? Jack's funeral? Why did she randomly just get on a stage and start singing? And I think many found the movie long, heard a lot of sighing and people looking at their phones
Shipper 13,088
Rez goes to prison for something and stops being Ally's manager. 🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶
PerfectGUY 7,822
Agreed for the lack of dynamic duets Is That Alright? would have been great at the wedding. But the Credits was a good spot. My problem is that the credits are to plain for us to focus on them + the song should have been played in full. Agreed for the ear And all the drama between Jack and his brother kind of bored me Me too I didn't understand the end Easily 8 people in my movie theatre left the screening, idk why (maybe bc it was long)

Brother scenes were kind of boring tbh
sipthistea 21,099
The beginning was great. But I felt that the story was a little bit rushed. Like their relationship moved so fast that they were touring right after they met, that's just not real tbh. It takes some time,( or maybe the characters had many issues and just do whatever they feel at the moment) And we didn't get to learn more about their respective lives. We just knew certain things about Jackson's past but that's it. It had some plot holes that just leave the public wondering. She became famous right after a YouTube video but that's it? I think the way she got famous could have been more complex than that (Although tht's the way many people become famous these days) In general I think they did a pretty good job, but I wish the script were more complete in that sense. Sam Elliot scenes were kind of boring tbh I don't know if you seen those movies but the credits and the music in them was perfectly managed: - Black Panther had really dynamic credits that made everything stayed til the end of them. The song (All The Stars) really stood out and the credits were kind of on beat with the music which was fun - Call Me By Your Name, the movie continued while the credits rolled, which really let the music Visions of Gideon shine through I would have loved some kind of same structure with Is That Alright? Andreu 37,216
Not triggering me because it was similar to Avicii's story Spoiler Drug Addiction, need to drink to get "brave" to perform Get clean, everything is fine Suicicde
Andreu 37,216
While I agree that everything was a little rushed, take into account that the movie was long enough, and anything much longer would be excessive for most ppl including myself in other movies, because time flew while I watched ASIB 8 minutes ago, sipthistea said: bit rushed

Schizophonic 7,015
i´m glad they did not portraied jack as an evil violent guy. not every alcoholic beats woman or is per se a bad person. that stigma has to stop, glad they didnt go in that direction and still portraied him kind of lovable. Regina George 59,387
I thought that Ally’s transition to fame was rushed.. And that’s it.. Everything else I liked..
Bolkins 4,125
I feel like there could of been some sort of ultimatum given to Ally by her label before she became a pop star. Say for instance, if the music she had made alongside Jackson was rejected in favor of Pop music and she has to make a decision between whats true to her and what will bring her success. I know that basically happened, but there was never a point where the audience sees Ally having to make that decision and literally "selling out" - although I also think if they had been that on the nose with it we would hated Ally a bit by the end of the film so maybe thats why it wasn't included. Not the bore worms!

I think it would have been so good, but maybe they were afraid of the consequences. It would have been a slap in the face to the music industry. kvnrp 48,353
Make the movie an hour longer so we can see exactly how Ally rose to fame so quickly. One moment she sings Shallow on stage and in the next she releases a full album

As it’s more of a “Movie with music” (Theres a term for this I just can’t remember). If they fought and it went straight into the top 40 sound of Before I cry it would have taken away from the sincerity of the fight and made it look cheesy (IMO)
