I LOVE all three roles she put on the thumbnail (Ursula, Wicked and Poison Ivy). This is also the second time she mentions Ursula and she even said she thinks Disney's CEO is thinking of casting Gaga as a re imagined Ursula in another video!

Ursula is not such a gr8 idea as SJWs are gonna be mad it was not casted by a Drag Queen

My gay heart couldn't handle her being Elphaba in Wicked, that would literally be too much to handle

I know what you mean but I honestly don't think it'd be that big of an issue. Grace also mentioned how the studio would probably still prefer going for a female to play Ursula and that if any female could appease the social justice warriors who want a drag queen it'd be Gaga because Gaga herself dresses in drag a lot of the time and has deep ties to the LGBTQ community and drag culture in general. (she mentioned all of this in her ASIB box office video). Though I dont always agree with Grace she seems to think ahead and think of all of these things too so her recommendations are truly well thought out.

Additionally I actually think casting a Drag queen as Ursula would be counter productive to the movement. Drag Queens are often mistaken and portrayed as gays wanting to desperately become women. Having a drag queen play Ursula, a witch who is jealous of Ariel and wants to steal her voice, her man and essentially become her etc.. would only encourage that stereotype. Drag queens love imitating and accentuating an exaggerated version of a woman but they do not necessarily want to actually become women. They are content with being gay men (etc..) who perform drag. So playing Ursula, a viciously jealous character would only put the movement backwards in my opinion at least.

But Ursula is officialy female in the movie INSPIRED by drag queen. Why would anyone be mad? lmao.. Also people can't cast anyone in the movie.. It's Disney who casts people.

I wanna see her play Norma Desmond in sunset boulevard: the musical when she's aged a bit more. The songs fit her vocals really well in my opinion. I also think she'd nail her madness and insanity

My personal favorite musical is Phantom of the Opera. I'd love to see Gaga take a turn in that but I'm not sure if there are any great roles for her. Carlotta would be fun but I'm not sure if Gagz is hate-able enough :laughga:

She would be a fantastic Maureen in Rent.

I've taken a few dips in the lady pond

But the original Ursula was inspired by a drag queen (Divine) and meant orginally meant to be a drag character. Also that is a very narrow way of defining drag, drag has always been heavily influenced by trans women.

They're doing that right now, that's why the AfD is doing so well in Germany. :ohwell:

That's true as well I suppose. Just wanted to give another point of view. Of course I could write an entire essay on drag lol I just meant that the way in which drag is often portrayed by media (especially in the past) was viewed as men wanting to be women when that is not the case for the most part. It is performance art in its core.

Ursuala is ONLY INSPIRED by drag queen - she is female and not a drag queen. So I kinda don't understand this fake woke-ness but do you..

You said the right thing and everyone can be a drag queen - you don't need to be man to do it.

+ Grace stated that Disney might be too scared to actually cast a drag queen so Gaga would be a good compromise.
As for Wicked, maybe there's a reason Gaga keeps mentioning The Wizard Of Oz so much lately in her interviews :oprah:

I'd still love her to play Dazzler in the upcoming MCU X-Men movie. That way she can still bring music to the table !
