So there's nothing to be excited for? :huntyga:

I mean when she announced Enigma, the fans who don't get to see it in person can at least watch the videos recorded, this is a whole other level kind of niche. :huntyga:

Gaga truly forsaking the entire world apart from US.

It'll be a Hamilton situation, essentially. You can enjoy it from afar, but you'll only get the full experience by going to the show. I'm sure we'll get a cast recording, which is standard, as well as some promo videos that showcase parts of the show. And if we're lucky and it gets nominated for Tonys, we'll see a performance of a song or medley on the award show. Perhaps a performance on something like GMA as well when the show opens?

Also, I live in the US fairly close to NYC now and I still won't be able to attend, so I'm right there with you.

Edit: Oh, and don't forget the inevitable bootleg recordings of the show, although security is usually pretty tight in these theaters. At least one is bound to get out, though.

Gracious Gaga

The Lincoln center library keeps an archive of Theatre on Film and Tape, known as TOFT.  You can watch recorded versions of broadway shows there.  (Yes it is in NYC)

I keep hearing this 'cast recording' thing, what is it actually? Sorry I'm not very familiar with Broadway.

From Wikipedia:

"A cast recording is a recording of a stage musical that is intended to document the songs as they were performed in the show and experienced by the audience. An original cast recording or OCR, as the name implies, features the voices of the show's original cast. A cast recording featuring the first cast to perform a musical in a particular venue is known, for example, as an "original Broadway cast recording" or an "original London cast recording".

Cast recordings are (usually) studio recordings rather than live recordings. The recorded song lyrics and orchestrations are nonetheless identical (or very similar to) those of the songs as performed in the theatre. Like any studio performance, the recording is an idealized rendering, more glossily perfect than any live performance could be, and without audible audience reaction. Nevertheless, the listener who has attended the live show expects it to be an accurate souvenir of the experience."

TL;DR: It's basically just the soundtrack of the show. Studio recorded versions of the songs in the show.
