ShayCristoforo 10,607
Venom has a universe and one of the most powerful brands behind it. 2nd place is still a wonderful spot Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.

We're talking about the superhero/comics genre here. Literally no genre right now can compete with that, definitely not a country rock musical lol. ARTCHAOS 1,687
Why don't we compare ASIB to Mamma Mia, The Great Showman or La La Land instead? P.S.: A Star Is Born is, thus far, living up to its title. The Bradley Cooper-directed remake of an oft-remade 1937 melodrama earned a frankly huge $4.55 million in Thursday previews last night. That includes $1.35m in Tuesday and Wednesday sneak preview grosses. But, let's be honest, anyone who was going to see this movie on a Tuesday night would otherwise have shown up last night. And even a $3.2m Thursday gross would have been huge for a movie like this. Forbes Movie not the bling (but also the bling)
That J 12,166
Some of the same were swearing the movie wouldnt make 10 million (which was hilarious), now it's already a hit but it's not a big enough hit or not everyone in the theater was crying OMG they hated it. Omg ! R E L A X. Lol. All is very very well. The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than The Driver Of The Screw

Chris Thomason 965
We don't need to compare asib to venom, venom is more commercial sure but which one will win an oscar? Look at the reviews for venom (Spoilers: They're BAD) and then look at the reviews for asib. I'll take much more satisfaction in gaga being critically acclaimed thanks. 2NE1bae 154
I think it was already expected that people will gravitate to watching Venom more; kids, their parents, Marvel fans, Venom fans, action movie fans. But honestly who has more of a chance of being getting an Oscar nod, sure as hell it won't be Venom lol. So it's kinda like, ASIB lost the battle, but wins the war
RahRah85 117
Don’t forget, Venom is playing on 600 more screens than ASIB. A better indicator of how it compares to Venom are the per theater averages.

That film will be huge. ---- I don't think people need to worry about ASIB being #1. No one ever expected it too. Movies just need a hefty financial return to be successful – and ASIB is going to get that. AND it has Oscar buzz, Venom can't say the same.
