That J 12,166
When one is a diehard fan of an artist not known for a certain genre, then see them IN that genre...it can be jarring. But I would hope that you would give it a few tries. Allow yourself to blink and in that blink, let the world change. Gaga isnt Gaga anymore. Let it hook its teeth into you. It takes losing yourself to a degree because some people cant turn that Gaga Machine off like maybe I can. Lol. Maybe you just needed to get that first sight out of your mind and when you go back to see it again, you'll see what the world is seeing. And it's good. Kulture Kiari 3,433
I honestly have only heard the Shallow and seen only one interview from The Ellen Show (remember my messy thread?), to avoid this tbh. The only thing that bugs me is that, Gaga has been a huge part of my life that I won't be seeing her as ally. But then again, I took acting classes and learned how to submerge myself into a story and only focus on the character instead of focusing on the actor, like how I was able to seperate Lady Gaga from The Countess during her AHS season. Having said that, imagine how hard it is for the Oscar's Committee to sit through movies, and having to vote for each category, while knowing that those actors are people who they see everyday as friends and now have to judge them based on their acting performance. Fake example: Yeah. I won't choose Bradley Cooper as actor of the year for his performance in ASIB just because I remember how drunk he got at the Chateu Marmont. I can't tell if it was genuine acting drunk, or he just showed up drunk like he used to do everyday at The Chateu.
Monster7 5,697
And that's why I didn't listen to the leaks or watch more than three interviews

ShockPop 7,747
I was like this until 30 minutes in. But I was like "this was filmed at ...." the whole way through. Needs another 2 viewings I think.

The movie was also ruined for me because I was dumb and drank a lot if liquids before the film started. 30 minutes in and all I could think of was "When is this movie going to end, I really need to pee?!" I refused to go during the movie because I didn't want to miss a single scene with Gaga in it. Definitely watching it again.
That J 12,166
We followed it SO hard lol. We know too much. I do work on the side as an extra in movies so I'm kinda used to seeing a movie I was a part of way after the fact and going "oh I remember this day"....lol Ya have to fall into the trap of art and block all that from your head to really appreciate what is on screen. Killa 17,513
honey, to be honest it just might not be a movie for you or you simply dont think the movie is that good. lol, what other people say matters very little. ofc what seems the problem is that you werent inside the movie, its important to imerse yourself and not forcing to get imersed. I'm very analytical, and god i know i've had plenty of those experiences. still if the piece of art really is beyond amazing i always get lost in thought and end up forgetting myself
Born Brave 2,072
I remember going to see Machete Kills for Gaga’s minuscule role in that movie...
JazzGa 14,621
This actually relieves me LOL. I'm about to go see it in an hour for the first time. I'm going by myself tonight and I'll see it with my mom and my lite-gaga-fan buddy next week. Since I am going by myself I was really concerned I would be overwhelmed emotionally and like... embarrass myself? Not be able to drive home? Lol i dunno. But this makes me feel like I'll probably just be yassing at irrelevant details like Gaga's necklines and midi rings and the mixing of the musical tracks and I'll be fine UPDATE: I was wrong I cried five times and two people asked me if I was OK My old cat is a tough man, but i cant deny the way he bites my hand and he stabs me, he grabs me by my heart <

petty 9,412
My BF was like this and it kinda pissed me off because he took me out of the experience and kind of ruined the end for me ddddd. But when I was alone I really processed what I watch and I can really see why everyone is loving. Even my boyfriend is appreciating it more a day later. The problem is us fans know so much about Gaga and follow her daily, literally. So it’s almost like seeing a family member at a talent show, so you’re nervous and you want them to impress everyone and love them as much as you do 😂 It’s the same feeling I get when she performs for like an award show 😂 anyways, definitely see it again and I’m sure you’ll see how truly amazing it is
RadioIsOurs 13,876
I kinda know what happens in the end because someone flashed a spoiler on twitter so Im not sure how that would impact my viewing

Don’t take things too seriously and relax. That’s a huge lesson this fan base really needs to learn.
