A SPOILER FREE REVIEW MADE BY @DUTCH

Finally it was they day: A Star Is Born was finally playing in the Dutch cinemas.

We've come a long way. When the movie got announced I was really surprised. Gaga doing a full movie as a lead actress, I didn't see that one coming. My fist reaction was a little bit skeptical, because at the time, I didn't know how big/serious this movie would be. But I was also really happy for Gaga, we know she always wanted to do this and god, she DID it. Anyhow, after we got a little bit more information I was really hyped. A movie which includes music, how much more could we wish for? Yes, in the beginning I wasn't sure if Gaga her acting was good enough to impress the GP, of course I hoped so and really was rooting for her, but this was her first real moment as an actress. And once again she proved me and all the doubters that we never should doubt her in the first place. After 10 years, Gaga once again proved me why I love her and why I will always love her. She showed a new side of her, which once again makes her even more diverse and iconic than she already is. So did Bradley, he did a great job as an actor, no surprises there, but he also made a great movie as director, which is also really impressive. And his voice, that's hot. Oh, and the dog is cute.

I just came home from the movie and A Hunty Cried, A Hunty Left Balt, A Hunty Decided To Stan Forever, whatever. etc. etc. Gaga really surprised me with how good she acted. Like, she is not just a popstar trying to act, no, she is an actress and she is a damn good one. Many said this before, but her acting was really natural and believable. If one of her biggest fans (aka: me) forgets Gaga and starts seeing Ally after 5 minutes, then you're doing a good job. I felt her love, her joy, her pain and her sadness. I lived for the moments she was a happy couple with Bradley, there were so many cute moments that made my heart warm. And she also made me cry and that's one of the hardest things to do; make someone cry with a movie. Well it happened to this cold hearted bitch. For the people that lived under a rock and didn't know Gaga could sing like THAT, they will know now. And even I was once again slayed by her vocals, goosebumps guaranteed y'all. And wow, in some shots Gaga looked so damn beautiful, like, her face, her body... Of course she always looks beautiful, but this movie highlighted that even more

Also so much praise for Bradley. We knew he was great actor and he showed it once again in this movie. I've so much respect for him for singing everything live! That's not easy to do, especially when you are directing a movie and acting in the movie too. How he handled everything at once is unbelievable and he made it work. The movie deserves all the praise and mostly thanks to Bradley. Talking about his directing job, I only can say he did a great job too. The movie felt fresh, the movie felt real, some shots were unbelievable clean, great angles etc. The performances gave you the exact feeling like when you are at a concert. The way he used the noise/music/sound to show how hysterical the music industry can be was also working great. He picked the right actors, they all made the movie even better.

I didn't listen to the leaks, so I only knew Shallow and Is That Alright. The Shallow is probably the biggest song of the movie, or at least the most used one. I'll Never Love Again is the song with the biggest impact and Old Ways is the biggest song for Bradley/Jackson in the movie. There are other songs that got played in the movie, but not as much as these. I can't wait to hear the other songs in full, because they sounded amazing. This could be a hit album with I'll Never Love Again as Gaga her new signature ballad. It made many people cry, which tbh, is understandable after how Gaga served that song and of course the moment of the movie itself is sad. I NEED THE ALBUM NOW.

I went with my sisters and sister in law to the movie and they truly loved it. Not just to please me, no, they couldn't stop talking about it. They were surprised by how great Gaga was acting, how strong her vocals are, but they also really just loved the movie and the story. My sister really loved the Shallow too. The reaction in the room were all positive, a lot of people were reacting to funny moments, sad moments, cute moments, so it was working. Tho there were people saying the movie was too predictable when we were halfway through... Like, for f*ck sake, the movie is just building, wait for the end. But the people who said this were those people that always complain and think they can do stuff better. Other people were just loving it. I feel good about this guys, the GP loves it.

Last but not least, I want to say once again how much I love Gaga. I can't believe that this happened and I'm just so happy for her that she gets the praise she deserve. I couldn't be more proud. God, this woman keeps giving me so much, I'm so thankful. I so happy she decided to do this and she got the chance.

That's it for now. I'm still recovering from this piece of art.

Right? It's so annoying to not be able to listen to the songs after seeing the movie. :air:
But we should be happy that we were able to see the movie so early. :vegas:

Yeah, and it's not an overkill of songs now. They mainly focus on Shallow and I'll Never Love Again in the end. The pop songs have to share the light.

Prrrrt, I really don't know yet. I would say I'll Never Love Again had the biggest impact on me, so that one. It got rightfully hyped up. It is a Whitney moment.
