My thoughts on ASIB! (spoiler free)

I saw ASIB yesterday at the AMC fan event with my dad!

I'll keep this spoiler free, I won't talk about any specifics in the movie.

First of all, I was surprised by the ratio of "GP" and "possible movie reviewers" vs. "Obvious Little Monsters". I was expecting a much younger audience all dressed up in Gaga concert shirts, but I think the fact that there were way more GP people is a great thing for this movie. Everyone was dead silent during the movie (I was worried people would be talking and I'd have to cut some bitches :huntyga:). You could tell that the movie had everyone gripped.

I was also surprised at how funny a lot of the film was. It was a very natural kind of funny, but everyone in the theater was laughing at all the right moments. Most of the funny moments are in the first part of the film, and these moments did a wonderful job humanizing Jack and Ally.

I really enjoyed the lighting in the movie, great use of color and stuff like that! The music? Incredible. This film is the reason I'm picking my guitar back up, these songs are amazing. The soundtrack will be on repeat for a long time to come for me.

And gosh, the ACTING. Everyone did a wonderful job, especially our leads and ESPECIALLY Gaga. I literally forgot that it was Gaga on screen, all I knew was Ally, and that made her journey in the film much more affecting and emotionally impactful for me. I think this is an important story, and Gaga and Bradley did a wonderful job with it.

This film really touched a raw nerve, and connected with me on a personal level. I can't stop thinking about it. I'm going to see the film again on Saturday, but I don't think this is a film I will be seeing over and over again in quick succession, because it's a story that requires you to really think on it, and sink it all in. It would be emotionally taxing to watch this continuously, as much as I'd like too, but again I think that's a GOOD thing!

This is a film for the ages, all I can say is, be prepared to be shook, wowed, and emotionally rocked.

Is it true that her kitty makes an appearance in the movie? :saladga:

It's true :sis: but it's only a short glimpse!

Well, I'm not sure about that. I've heard some critics saying the first part is better, but I don't think that just cuz people laughed more in the first part that they enjoyed it more. There just weren't many funny moments in second part.
