A charismatic newcomer may snatch the nomination again, if Beto O'Rourke wins his senatorial election he will serve basically the same amount of time in the Senate as Obama did before his 08' Presidential run. I've seen Avenatti's name floated by people on The Left who want a bulldog to combat Trump's brash style. Steve Bannon predicts a Hollywood figure, like Oprah, snatching the Democratic nomination. Then there are tons of predictable choices like Harris, Warren, Sanders, Biden, and Booker. Heck, I wouldn't even count Hillary out.

It's more important to focus on the Midterms.

Sanders plain and simple. He’s extraordinarily popular, likeable, down to earth and won many of the rust belt swing states (also practically tying Iowa) in the primaries that Clinton later went on to lose to Trump. People can say what they want, but I would rather take a contender that is shown to safely defeat Trump by double digits than one that just beats him by a few like Clinton - and look where that got us.

This was always my issue with Bernie. I liked his ideas but the reality of anything he wanted ever passing the Senate and House were nonexistent. Liberalization takes time, especially when you're working with conservatives.

Candidates actually will be announcing their campaigns around April so it's really not that far away (6 months). 

If you'll remember Hillary announced her campaign in April of 2015 for the 2016 election.

That's the exact reason I chose Hillary over him. They had the same goals but Hillary's head was level, her feet were on the ground, and she had real, pragmatic, and doable plans laid out to achieve what Bernie wanted but he seems to think he can just wave a magic wand and POOF! Free college, healthcare, and all the aid the country needs in an instant

So yeah, out of the ones in the OP, I'd say left-of-center Biden would be my "safe pick" because, imo, the term after Trump's will be dedicated to healing the nation. Then in 2024, we can really start putting in work for progress. I also like Harris and Warren though. Warren would have that whole Pocahontas thing on Trump. Imagine his face while she's being sworn in

I'm actually very here for this kind of thing only because I know she's smart enough to surround herself with people who know what they're doing unlike a certain orange man. She's like the liberal Trump anyway except her success story doesn't involve inheritance and million dollar loans  born into poverty to a single teenage mother, lived in a rural town with her poor grandmother before being juggled with her coal miner father, lived through racism and shaming due to her poverty in high school, but became an honors student and made a name for herself based on her own merit.
