This happened with Dream Girls also. It just happens when you have a star-studded cast like that. Also of note, I think we can all agree that part of Gaga’s casting, regardless of how great she performs, is because of her fame. So this effect is everything WB could have wished for because it ensures a box office blockbuster *and* critical hit that bolsters their studio’s credentials.
