There’s still an entire season of SNL. This is in no way a confirmation that she’s not doing it this promo cycle. Clickbait thread :bye:

Spoiler

She's already performing for SNL in the movie.  Wouldn't that be super weird?  Imagine the general public being convinced to see the movie through an SNL appearance and then see her again in the movie

They probably purposely chose not to do it.

I'm sad, but not surprised. It's still too early for her to sing any of the soundtrack, and besides, the film is kind of a serious one, so Bradley and/or Gaga doing silly sketches almost doesn't work. The only reason I expected it to happen was because of the SNL scene in the movie...but then again that's Ally, not Gaga.

Maybe they'll cameo? Or maybe they'll host next year before the Oscars? You never know tbh.

Very predictable.

Also, I hope she doesn't do it at all. There would be something... desperate about it. Honestly, I wish they just relied on the film festival praise and stopped after that. This is a movie, I don't want her to promote this as much as one of her albums, it feels kind of... disappointing. It's just a side project after all, don't forget that.

Please, most major movies are having their own big promotions. And it is not a side project, in case you forgot, her first love is acting, before she decided music was the way to go to get famous.

That's true but this version of ASIB is deliberately unlike most major movies right now in every aspect of the writing and directing. It's supposed to feel a bit folksy, rock and roll and well, different.

The movie reminds me a lot of La La Land. It was a weird, seemingly out of touch and not of this day and age musical that won over hearts at film festivals and then maintained an aura of respectability and "classic-ness" afterwards despite its promo strategies.

I just hope ASIB keeps that going. Pandering to people who watch SNL is not gonna keep that going.

Fair point.

That's reasonable. You have to think about the fact that SNL requires lots of rehearsal which is not possible with her schedule hence she appears on a shows almost on a daily basis before SNL.
