Hun it’s not about having an opinion or not. It’s about making impulsive or (dare I say) #shallow judgements upon just hearing the track. Being critical is important, but not out of lack of respect for process and Gaga’s long game.

No one in this thread lacks any respect. Everyone expressed their opinions respectfully. You are the one coming here “attacking” others.

I love Shallow and I like the version we got and I'm going to be listening to it non stop, but ugh, this is so stupid. The mixing is weird, and even though her vocals are very good in the version we got, they don't sound as good as the ones we heard in the studio version, and them hyping us up for that version and giving us the other one is wrong.

I usually don't complaing about Gaga related stuff, but this just doesn't make sense. They could have just kept the live version for the film and the studio version for the album. I don't think this was Gaga's decision.

I hope this is just a rumour and we end up getting both versions, if not, I guess we will just get used to what we got, since it's still amazing.

All the tracks up until Look What I've Found will probably be "live" ish versions. From Look What Ive Found onward, she starts to record in a studio and do more poppy songs, which will definitely be studio versions.

Let’s just be happy we are getting music and a movie with her staring in it for the lord of Light’s sake!

Like seriously - we have some spoiled/very entitled kids here.

What we get is what we get. And love it for the time and effort she has put in.

It's very possible that they wanted to use the live version for just this track, as it might be the one they submit for Best Original Song at the Oscars. I personally like this live version, but I would love to hear the studio version if they release it some day!

The song is amazing and the crowd noises have grown on me too- I'm sure the crowd noises will fit even better in the context of the soundtrack. However, I wish the vocal mixing was better and the drums hit harder because I find them pretty tame throughout the song, even at the climax.

Well it can't ALL be live.

Heal Me isn't performed in full in the movie and in the soundtrack we get a full 3 minute version. So I mean some songs that aren't fully featured in the movie will be getting full studio versions.

Honestly, who cares though? Bradly and Gaga sounds amazing live as they would in the studio. Like I think the only thing lacking is the instrumental but I mean we have remixers that I'm sure can tinker with that and even take out the cheering in Shallow all together.

They should have got a good producer, shallow is mixed awfully

They said that the soundtrack was going to be studio versions and now they are chainging it, disappointed but not surprised

It's annoying. When recording these tracks they instruct everyone to be quiet for the purpose of mixing the audio later and placing crowd noise where they want it. Which is why there is no reason they should be added crowd noise to the soundtrack versions. MAYBE just some at the beginning and end if they wanted the effect - but placing it through out the whole thing just makes it so distracting to listen to outside the context of the movie. It's not like regular live recording crowd noises after all, it all is very deliberately placed for effect of the film - but we only have audio so there is no dramatic effect it just is distracting to me. Ugh I'm a bit agitated by this choice actually.

you can also hear gaga's footsteps when she walks on stage and the motorbike

I mean this is all good you do, but can't you all just enjoy the song? :vegas:

no since I personally don't like it the way it is. I can't like something just bc people want me to

Can you check this please? From 2:01 to 2:05 when she sings the o of shallOOw and the nOw the sound is burnt, like very saturated. And at the 2:33 approximately when she starts the long ahhh, I can hear a cut a noise. I'm listening by apple music. I REALLY REALLY LOVE THE SHALLOW. And won't say that I would prefer a studio version, but I really love it to be the live. But she doesn't deserve that messy production / mixing. It needs to be fixed. Check yourself. Loads of love to Gaga and this beautiful song. I love her.
