She can’t release ANYTHING without you tearing it to shreds. You’ve all watched the multiple versions of clips and promos and created your own idea of what you wanted the song to be and it’s not that. So what. I’m seeing the same backlash for I Want Your Love which is an incredible disco cover. Let’s stop reacting instantly, stop thinking about numbers and chart performance, and sit with the music as she intended us to. We should only be so lucky to have a queen so talented across multiple disciplines. Let’s enjoy the ride as she evolves as an artist. This is.... messy sis Warner hyped the film with studio versions that sound amazing and when the released versions are of an arguably lesser quality in terms of production, then of course there will be a bit of a “wtf” element. Especially knowing that studio sessions were booked throughout 18 months for these songs. This isn’t a chart thing lmao. Nobody hates the songs either. They’re all pretty amazing. But the potential is like, literally right there Signature loading… 👹🖤
Memento 881
I can't handle the fact of new original pop songs like WDYDT and Heal Me being live in the soundtrack, I just hope it isn't mixed with live instrumentation, that's an atrocity. Talk **** on me again ill sandwich your fuggin face
Addison Rae 16,587
You have got to be kidding me. The Spotify live version is so messy. Gaga and Bradley sound amazing but the quality is terrible. What are they thinking? Why are they using the amazing studio versions to promote it then giving us badly mixed live versions as the official soundtrack? what a damn mess sitting on his lap sipping diet pepsi
Saint Laurent 4,862
This is the music industry's biggest problem. Everything is just so calculated. I appreciate that they're singing live, but it's not simple music than can be layered and manipulated with mixing. A good example of a live soundtrack is Les Mis, but what Gaga/Bradley/WB need to remember is that ASIB was recorded in front of thousands of people, which means that the vocals can't be as easily filtered and mixed over a studio instrumental. Ugh. How can people with so many combined years of experience not figure out how to filter vocals from a live performance. At times, the mixing sounds as bad as some of the fan filters on soundcloud. That said I do love the song.
Saint Laurent 4,862
Also, I just cannot understand how Bradley's vocals are so clean and Gaga's just aren't. I'm starting to doubt that Bradley is actually singing live tbh.

When recording these tracks they instruct everyone to be quiet for the purpose of mixing the audio later and placing crowd noise where they want it. Which is why there is no reason they should be added crowd noise to the soundtrack versions. MAYBE just some at the beginning and end if they wanted the effect - but placing it through out the whole thing just makes it so distracting to listen to outside the context of the movie. It's not like regular live recording crowd noises after all, it all is very deliberately placed for effect of the film - but we only have audio so there is no dramatic effect it just is distracting to me. Ugh I'm a bit agitated by this choice actually.

They didn't have to filter anything because there wasn't anything there to begin with. They just added it...
LUO YI 6,089
Why don’t release both versions as separate albums? And what's the point of having two versions of IWNLA then? The night sky tells all

I'm talking about just the general noise that thousands of people in an open room make, even when they're silent. I can tell by listening to it that they didn't think the vocal recording was clear enough so they've filtered it and it's made it sound so bizarre. Hun it’s not about having an opinion or not. It’s about making impulsive or (dare I say) #shallow judgements upon just hearing the track. Being critical is important, but not out of lack of respect for process and Gaga’s long game.

There’s a lot of chart-topping music out there that seems to have overwhelmingly blind acceptance when they don’t take the artistic risks that we can at least applaud Gaga for. That’s all I’m saying. We jump on highlighting the negatives before considering the big picture.
