The feud is so dead. I wish they would just bury the hatchet in some, can’t twist it any other way, way. Like Madonna saying she loves Gaga and Gaga replying saying the same.

She never hated Gaga. It was just the BTW/EXPRESSURSELF thing. She said a bunch of times she thinks gaga is talented and a great singer.

She said Gaga was talented so many times and literally said Gaga didn't copy her work, I can't believe LMs still call it a "feud" even. It was completely made up by the media and the fans and they both took advantage of it separately, Madonna in her greed for promo, Gaga to look like a pathetic victim.

If anyone has kept the feud alive, it's Gaga who blasted her a few times long after the whole "reductive" incident, while Madonna has kept silent, except to clarify that she never had anything against her (another forgotten statement).

True. But I don't blame Gaga for being offended by/mad at that thing. Madonna didn't just stop there. She did the whole BTW cover trick. It wasn't nice of her to do many things she did. Trying to turn people against Gaga in an already hard era.

I get what you're saying and I agree to some extent but the way I remember things is that people were already turned against her before Madonna made that comment The whole "BTW is a rip-off" narrative was already well put in place by everyone; Madge just put her stamp on it.

Which wasn't nice, I agree, but in the same interview she did praise her and did say that Gaga wasn't ripping her off as an artist. So I don't think she went out of her way to make it worse for Gaga.

About the cover thing: it was harmless to me. That segment of the show was all about Madonna as a champion, as a superstar, and her place in the music industry, and it's abundantly clear it's one of the darkest segments in the show despite the bright colors.

Yes, she knew it would cause predictable controversy and that it would be interpreted the wrong way by many, but she did say she loved Gaga during the tour and invited her to perform with her, so again... not going out of her way to blast her. Gaga probably declined to perform with her because she was more comfortable playing the victim.

Well, her publicist said she was happy to do it but couldn't because of scheduling issues But as you've seen, I don't believe that either.

The self-respect thing... I mean, ok, but they're pop stars. The moment they start to take themselves seriously, everything is just absurd. Gaga was wearing condom-fabric dresses (literally) in that time, come on.

The fact remains that if Gaga had performed with Madonna on tour, the whole "they hate each other" narrative would've ended immediately. Madonna was reaching out to her to end it and Gaga kept it going. To this day she makes snarky comments about her while Madonna has moved on. So that's why I wrote what I wrote above.
