I’ve always thought of this strategy that maybe, if you have a strong fanbase supporting you, they can consume the song heavily on first day and assure you a quite good debut based on just one day, and then minimize the second week drop because that’s the first full week

Plus, I found this Billboard article

https://www.google.it/amp/s/www.billboard.com/amp/articles/business/7897127/thursday-new-music-releases-explained

I still dont get it :messga: like why would u release a song on a thursday, then a full week without the actual movie and then the movie release :messga: like sure,if you dont have any major promo planned, it makes sense but not with ASIB imo

Buy ARTPOP on itunes or smth?

Actually I’m curious to see how it turns out because Gaga always suffers of 2nd week drops but using this strategy she’s covered for the first three weeks

ASIB Era everyone :applause:

I have a feeling the views on the music video for the first 24 hours are gonna look bad, so we should get ready to prevent any meltdowns

I was hoping Gaga wouldn't follow the Thursday trend.

She's splitting sales AND streaming #s and views. Tragic.

I still stand by the fact that the song should get released on Oct 5 :usrs:

I see some good points

"an increasingly popular yet risky tactic that artists and their labels are using to maximize exposure and stand out from the Friday pack."

"The strategy can help cut through the noise while giving the Australian, Asian and European markets more time to drive music up the global streaming charts and through social media, since Australia's Friday is well underway by the time New York's officially begins. "

"You're separating yourself from everything else that's coming out on Friday,"

Do you think Monsters in the US should purchase on iTunes on Friday instead of Thuraday? We can easily spread the word on Twitter.

We stan a GeePee artist now so i guess it doesn't matter :vegas:

But you can tell them to cancel the preorder, buy the song, then preorder again :trollga:

I just got my phone a couple of weeks ago and I already ordered the soundtrack on my iPad. I'll buy Shallow on my phone in the middle of next week so it has stability. Plus I'll be streaming it all week long, like I did with 5SOS's album because I wanted them to beat Bey and Jay:vegas:
