A Star Is Born gets a solid A CinemaScore tonight. Who doesn’t love the movie? Females turned out at 66% to guys’ 34%; both gave it a solid A. Over 50 bunch at 42% gave it an A. Under 25ers may have been small in their turnout at 14%, but they loved the Cooper-directed movie the most with an A+. Those over 25 who made up 86% of the audience gave A Star Is Born an A. When I was watching I tried to be as unbiased as possible, and I was actually able to get lost in Gaga's performance (I was seeing Ally not the Gaga we all know so well). I forgot Bradley Cooper even existed: I was watching Jack, not someone playing him. The soundtrack holy jeez should they milk this album for as long as possible. Overall, the acting, directing, cinematography and music were all superb. The weakest portion was the pacing and the screenplay. It was good, but everything else shined much brighter than that part.
