yes, because they stuck to mainly huge music events lol

the radio interviews only lasted during the PI era

Radio interviews were PI only promo, no wonder why it flopped big times for a lead.

Gaga had a huge career before doing the SB and CK, she could’ve performed at The Voice or any of the talk shows on TV (Ellen, Jimmy K., Jimmy F.,) or even do those little interviews she’s doing for ASIB; you’re acting as if either she does big TV events or back to the radio.

For a main pop girl, Joanne undeniably underperformed comparing it to her peers albums.

it was the second best selling female album of 2016, was number 1 and had 2 grammy noms (one for MR)

in what WORLD is that an under performance when it outdid most of the other girls?

In terms of impact and commercial performance, would you compare it to (?):

- Lemonade

- Anti

- 25

- Reputation

- Beautiful Trauma

Cause you’d think those artists fall into the same category (A-listers) with Gaga, yet Joanne doesn’t even come close to those records.

Adele and Taylor always sell, ANTi wasn't really selling, just a giant in streaming, Lemonade had a cheating rumor to support its sales while Beautiful Trauma had ticket bundles.

On top of all that, Joanne is pop-folk-country which barely sell these days. She was a mainly EDM-pop artist and moving 201 k units with such a strikingly different album that the fanbase was not used to is more difficult than you think. :triggered:

You can go off, but go off in context. :ohwell:

doppelganger

Warner Brothers has money though. Marketing budget for a film is typically about the same as the film budget, and every time the film is marketed the soundtrack gets exposure. $30 million is a lot more than Interscope is willing to spend considering record sales are at an all time low.

- Lemonade was the only 2016 female album that beat her

- Anti would have flopped without streaming

- nobody outsells adele lol

- Taylor has incredible marketing and outsold by holding off her album from streaming services

- pink had tour bundles

all those albums were also on trend and had spotify support, gaga's team didn't bother with spotify because her contract didn't include royalties from streaming platforms until they re-negotiated

Joanne was a folk/americana/country influenced album in an industry dominated by hip hop/trap/rap

all the albums you listed minus adele were very current and gaga still out-did most of her peers with an unpopular genre and no spotify support

I numbered your points for reference.

1) still the biggest.

2) well streaming does exist and it’s only getting bigger, it’s the future of music whether you like it or not.

3) Good point.

4) Brings us back to the ‘management’ point, huh?

5) BT still outsells Joanne excluding the bundles.

6) This statement couldn’t be more false, none of these records sounded like anything playing on the radio when they dropped, if anything they were the trendsetters.

:what: okay but convince yourself i guess

if joanne had tour bundles, it would have smashed BT and BT was SUPER generic

taylor's management is one of a kind so it doesn't really bring back the management point otherwise more than 2 albums would have sold 1m+ in 2017

i mean for a gaga fan, you're trying really hard to make joanne look like a flop when realistically it did good :what: i mean you tried to compare movie promo to an album promo as if that's a realistic standard...

Beyond the semi-shiny $25 synthetic platinum blonde frontal closure that looks like it survived my local beauty store’s back storage, I’m so proud of Gaga and the rest of the ASIB team. You can tell how proud they are of their work, and of each other.
