voidfigure 1,612
The Fame (heavy glam-rock influences, David Bowie vibes etc.) Teeth (many many influences in this song, and the tribal-like sound is unique for a pop album; didn't like it at first, but I love it now due to its power and rawness) Electric Chapel (the intro is almost a soundtrack to an epic fantasy movie, the rest of the song cleverly mixes dance-pop and hard rock) Aura (the beat is so complex literally no one has ever been able to remake it) Perfect Illusion (not really experimental to the bone, but an unexpected turn of the Joanne album and an interesting structure)

Sorcerer 12,351
TF: Paparazzi - Really different beat and production among the rest of the album. It feels so original. TFM: Teeth - It's like a gospel/dance song with some robotic Gaga elements. BTW: Government Hooker - That structure and production is crazy. AP: Aura - The intro and the production in the verses made this such a wild opener. Joanne: Hey Girl - Has this familiar Elton John groove in it added with this psychedelic synth in the bridge. Ziggy 11,327
The Fame: I guess Paper Gangsta? But TF is not really an experimental album in most or any sense lol The Fame Monster: Teeth. The mix of southern gospel, soul, blues, and pop is really interesting and its structure is also pretty unconventional by her standards to that point. It's also kind of cool to see the creative progression of her there. In that song, it's where she first really did that conversational verse style we later see in Sexxx Dreams two albums later. Born This Way: Bloody Mary. Again, she's mixing synth pop with metal, Gregorian chants, a little trap in there courtesy of DJWS. It makes no sense on paper but works so so well. ARTPOP: Aura. Others have said it, but just listen to the production. C2C: Lush Life, agreed. The rest is literally decades-old pop haha Joanne: Even harder than TF because nothing was experimental lol
