People don't hire managers, they hire stars. And of course they hired Gaga because of her talent, that doesn't mean Bobby had nothing to do with taking care of the details of the process. She's not some third tier talent that he has to go around selling to everyone and begging for jobs. The Super Bowl one is just a reach..... are you surprised that they called Gaga to give her the final news? Watch 5f2, it's clear that Bobby was involved from the start of the process and I'm sure was very involved in putting together the pitch to the NFL and working with them. Gaga herself gave him credit in 5f2 for managing the whole thing nearly single-handedly. Maybe the problem is he seems to be in the "background" and not being up front and in control, therefore he's considered a bad manager. He works for her, not the other way around. It's his job to coordinate Gaga's various efforts. When Gaga was green and inexperienced and unknown, the label put her with Troy and it was his job to promote her and take her to a new level. He did that well, but also drove her into depression and physical breakdown. Gaga is at a different point of her career and Bobby is perfect in that role to this point. I get that some fans think she has lost her way in the pop landscape and they are looking for someone like Troy to promote and drive Gaga like she was when she was new, but thats old news for her and she obviously has no need to burn herself out again just so stans can claim she's the queen of the pop universe. You realize by this fall Bobbys gonna mark his fifth year as ‘Gagas manager’, which is the same amount of period Troy managed Gaga. Sure, he has few flaws here and there (aka not promoting her enough on streaming platforms but that has to do more about Interscope than Bobby), but the mess Gaga was in 2013 compared to now... he did a very good job.
