I think sticking to Lady Gaga was a good choice because I've seen so many tweets and videos of people getting surprised and shocked when Gaga's name comes on in the trailer, and I think it wouldn't have the same impact if it was her real name exorcise my mind Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

The word is that some kind of official press materials were sent out last year with her real name on them. Therefore, most people think the original plan was to have her go by Stefani but then they changed it. I am *so* glad she's going by Gaga. There'd have to be too much explanation for people to be like "Wait, who's that actress?" then "Isn't that Lady Gaga?" then "Is Stefani Gaga's real name?" then "Why didn't she just use 'Gaga'?".
