Reminds me of Egypt. Has been significantly much more messed up since sisi came. And what boils my blood even more is the delusional people that are supporting him. Babel 41,643
I left my country almost 14 years ago, don’t think I’ll ever go back on a long time. Things have only gotten worse by time. Wishing all fellow Venezuelans to leave that sinking ship before it’s too late for them.

Has been largely neutral. Hasn't created a boom like some in favour said it would from higher incomes at the bottom but it hasn't stopped economic expansion either like those against it said and unemployment remains relatively low and stable First of all it didn't go all the way to $15. It went up to $14 first but the additional $1 increase was due to come in January which the new Government is vowing to block Secondly the Canadian dollar has fallen last couple years so for international businesses especially the increase in real exchange value isn't as huge as it might appear Lastly because the increase was done when economy was strong, you typically get wage pressures anyway when revenues rise and lower unemployment force you to offer more pay for workers. The government simply forced at the bottom what was happening to middle class already. If the increase was during a Recession when wages are supposed to drop I think it would have caused more damage. At least the timing of the increase was pretty ideal

By definition the more money you have the more you can spend on hiding or destoying evidence: IT computer security systems, offshore bank accounts, trust accounts, creating holding companies, employing fancy accountants to “cook your books”. All perfectly legal. Canada has several attributes that force it to be rich: white, ex-British Empire and a single contiguous border with the US. White English-speaking countries are NEVER poor and never have been poor and probably never will be poor. If Mexico had as much oil as Canada...wow just imagine the bloodshed. It’s already pretty bad but all that cheap wealth would make it ten times worse. I know Mexico is a racially diversified country with a sizeable “white” population but it’s a Hispanic country: historically all the Latin American states have had political, social and economic volatility and upheaval. Ok about circumstances true. And it is in a very good geographical location. I just meant that it's possible to have a lot of oil and not mismanage the resources and run nation to the ground think Canada is the only Nation in the top 10 highest oil reserves (were #3) that isn't a hell hole to live in (I think the US is close to top 10 now with the upgrade in "proven reserves" from shale tho)
