Tutorial: Marina Signature

*Today, we're going to be making a pastel-coloured signature. Your end result should look similar to this:

*nTWIb.png

*To start off, here's a few tips to make sure your signature looks as good as possible.

*DO:

*Try and use bright images.

*Make sure the textures don't hide/ruin your pictures.

*DON'T:

*Use dark images. This doesn't fit in with the textures and colourings we're going to use.

*Use a PSD that isn't a colour like red, pink etc. It won't look nice with the signature.

*YOU'LL NEED:

*texture 1 | texture 2 | psd colouring

*(credits to swimchick.net for textures, JaysAMess for psd colouring.

*you can use a different psd if you'd like.

*i'm using rounded corners in this sig; if you need help, go here.)

*Let's get started!

*STEP ONE

*Open your base image in Photoshop. We're going to use three images in this signature, so make sure there's enough room at the left and right sides for them. Try to make it look like this:

*kJth3.jpg

*STEP TWO:

*Place your other two images at the sides. It's best that they're from the same/similar photoshoot to avoid ruining your signature. We're going to create the appearance that they're behind the first image.

*STEP THREE:

*Erase around the side of the images so it looks like it's behind the first one, like this:

*vqfe4.jpg

*Also, set the opacity of both layers to about 42%.

*STEP FOUR:

*Paste the first texture into your document. Then, change the blending mode to lighten and the opacity to around 60%. Erase lightly around the first image so it looks like this:

*TdO9S.jpg

*STEP FIVE:

*Paste the second texture into your document. Crop the portion of the texture that suits your image the best and set the blending mode to Screen, and the opacity to 55%. Erase around the picture so the texture is only on your first image. It should look like this:

*1Cl4s.jpg

*STEP SIX:

*Flatten the image and open up the PSD colouring. Set the canvas size to 600x300 (or whatever size signature you're using) and paste it in.

*STEP SEVEN:

*Choose whatever PSD looks the best with your signature. Lower the opacity if needed. You may need to sharpen your image again, as some PSDs tend to blur the original pic.

*STEP EIGHT:

*Choose a border. You can do whatever you want with it, but I decided to use a rounded border (tutorial is at the top of the page if needed).

*STEP NINE:

*Make some final touches/add some text, and you're done! I hope this tutorial helped you, and if you do happen to use it please post your end results in this thread. I'd love to see them! :)
