Yes you can. Racism and islamophobia are deeply connected and racists have been attacking brown and/or black people, thinking they’re Muslims, even when they’re not. That’s why Sikhs are often attacked, for example.

No it isn’t. “Islam is not a race” is just an excuse for racists to continue to be racists and islamophobic.

Please explain why an Iraqi Jew or Indian Sikh would be attacked with anti-Muslim slurs??  This does happen, so please explain why?

The user is saying that people of colour often get attacked based on the colour of their skin because racist/islamaphobes think they're Muslims, in particular Sikhs because skin tone and head wear. Whether the victim is Muslim or not, if the attacker is assuming they're Muslim because of the colour of their skin, that is a racially fueld attack, so it's racism
