Machine Gun Kelly Fires Back at Eminem With Diss Track 'Rap Devil'

Machine Gun Kelly has long been complimentary of Eminem as one of the figures in hip-hop who inspired him to pick up a pen. Back in 2012, Kelly ruffled Em's feathers when he tweeted that his daughter, Hailie, was “hot as f---.” He also claims that Eminem has banned him from any more appearances on his Shade 45 channel on SiriusXM.

On his new Kamikaze track "Not Alike," Eminem addresses MGK's comments about his daughter, rapping, "And I’m talking to you but you already know who the **** you are, Kelly/ I don’t use sublims and sure as f--- don’t sneak-diss/ But keep commenting on my daughter Hailie."

On Monday (Sept. 3), MGK defended "Rap Devil" on Twitter, writing that he's standing up for his "generation" amid Eminem's attack.

I hate both song from Em and MGK,

But it's about time someone stand up to Eminem after being diss by him, I'm so tired everyone afraid of Eminem

I know Eminem was bad for using that word, whilst I think it's not an OK word to use casually, especially it not by an LGBT person, it's questionable for many reasons anyway as it was directed at Tyler, but then supposedly it was paraphrasing, which is still questionable anyway but then, Eminem's ambiguous sexuality adds a new level to that controversy. So I'm not saying it was OK for him to use that, but I feel like the context surrounding its use is very confusing so I'm not letting my thoughts on that cloud my judgement on the rest of his album. 

So I get that it's a bit looked down on round here at the minute to be on his side or even like him, but the Diss track against Kelly was a decent song (whether it was necessary or not, that's what many rappers do), and the response track was alright too, but I think Eminem's was superior. 

I think might Kelly have raised some valid points but they're definitely exaggerated, and whether you like Eminem or not, I find it weird to question his talent when he's clearly very good at writing and rapping. 

Yes, revival wasn't his best, but this album is a lot better imo and it throws a few clever references to revival and it's reception.
