When people think of Lion King they will still associate it with the original animated one. Also no actor will receive an Oscar nods. Bey has a chance in the original song if she manages to find a song that is good enough to get out of the shadow of the original Elton classic AND manage to get her name on the writing credit AND ensure there are only 2 other writers on said song. That's a lot of IFS. Having said that, Beyonce is doing fine. She can command a high fee for her films (LG will climb after this one) and she is pretty much already a music legend. I'm sure it hurts her that she won't get that Oscar that she wanted, but everything else in her career is already a win. I'm sure she is smart enough to realize this wasn't just a given Oscar chance. You had to have the chops to do it and she likely knows she doesn't. Probably why she hasn't done many movies in the first place. She isn't bothered. Her fans are the ones that are bothered but not as much as another fanbase because at least they have Lion King to look forward to.
