Actually, I can give you one reason, but it’s a really, really good one: The pop superstar is set to make her debut as a big-screen leading lady opposite Bradley Cooper in A Star is Born on Friday, Oct. 5 — one week after SNL will (presumably) premiere. Gaga has a long history with SNL, having hosted and/or served as musical guest four times (most recently in Oct. 2016 to promote her then-new album Joanne). The Bad Romance singer is also gearing up to launch a Las Vegas residency at year’s end.. Also if she were to also be the musical guest what would she perform? I can't really see her performing ASIB songs before the movie comes out. I don't think it will happen, though, cause there are so many premieres leading up to Oct5 and many promotional tours so I doubt she'll have a lot of rest time enough (for her hip) to rehearse for SNL.
