but that song was released more than 30 years ago?

And A Star Is Born was made 80 years ago. Your point? :saladga:

Commercially chances are it will be bigger.

But with the mid-production mess with the director it defenitely dented its chance at the oscars.

True, but ASIB is going to feature a completely new soundtrack - Bohemian Rhapsody is not. You can't re-write music for a Queen movie - famous for their own, original songs. ASIB on the other hand has been completely reinvented, musically.

There is literally NO original music.

A Star Is Born has original songs. Boheman doesn't.

Unless they will record an unreleased song of Queen right? it's possible..

Even if they did, it wouldn't be eligible for the Oscar. All songs have to be totally original and written for the movie - they are pretty strict on that, too. So even an old unreleased song repurposed for the film wouldn't be eligible for nomination. They would have to prove that they came up with something completely from scratch.

Oh I see, I was thinking of nominating the movie, not the music.

No, the songs have to be written specifically for the movie to be nominated.... so the only chance is if Brian May wrote a new song for the movie....
